    Reasons Analysis on Cracking of the Steel Plate during Stamping

    • During the manufacturing process of automobile right longitudinal beams, cracks appeared on one side of a right longitudinal beam after stamping. By means of fracture analysis, energy spectrum analysis, metallographic examination and chemical composition analysis, the cracking reasons of the steel plate were analyzed. The results indicate that amounts of oversize non-metallic inclusions existing in the cracking position resulted in the steel plate laminating, which destroyed the continuity of the steel plate matrix, reduced the bearing capacity of the steel plate, and finally resulted in the cracking of the steel plate after stamping.
